Roche Bobois Makes a Bold Debut at Downtown Design 2025

Where artistry, colour, and craftsmanship converge to redefine luxury living in the Middle East

At Downtown Design 2025 in Dubai, the iconic French luxury furniture house Roche Bobois made its eagerly awaited debut, marking a significant step in its expanding presence across the Middle East. Held from November 5 to 9 as part of Dubai Design Week, the event brought together global and regional creatives, providing Roche Bobois the perfect platform to express its vision of Art de Vivre, a harmonious blend of craftsmanship, emotion, and individuality.

The brand’s installation, designed by its in-house team, transformed its booth into a mesmerizing, floating architectural structure featuring mirrored panels that multiplied perspectives and enhanced the vivid colours and textures of the collections on display. Visitors were immersed in a dynamic environment where light, materiality, and sculptural form played a central role.

At the heart of the installation were three iconic pieces representing Roche Bobois’s creative direction for 2025. The Aqua Dining Table, crafted from limited-edition Rosso Levanto marble with a Rosso Jaipur Fenix laminate top, showcased sculptural fluidity through its droplet-shaped base only 200 units will be produced worldwide. The legendary Mah Jongsofa by Hans Hopfer was presented in a custom mirror room draped in Kenzo Takada’s vibrant SAMAA fabrics, highlighting the piece’s modular freedom and artistic versatility. Finally, the Bubble Sofa by Sacha Lakic appeared in a fresh colourway from the Cromática palette, inspired by Spanish film director Pedro Almodóvar’s expressive visual style, embodying storytelling through design.

Roche Bobois’s participation went beyond exhibiting furniture; it was a celebration of connection and dialogue within Dubai’s vibrant design ecosystem. Fawzia Hassani, Head of Marketing for Roche Bobois UAE, emphasized the significance of the brand’s first presence at the region’s leading design fair: “Being here is about forging connections and embracing the dynamic energy that makes Dubai’s design scene one of the most vibrant in the world.”

Through this debut, Roche Bobois reinforced its commitment to the Middle East’s creative landscape, engaging architects, designers, and enthusiasts who see furniture as both functional art and a lifestyle statement. The immersive booth styled a complete living environment that reflected the brand’s belief that design is a conversation between culture, creativity, and craftsmanship.
