The brand debuts its newest 'Signature Design' that explores light suspended in motion
Preciosa Lighting, the Czech brand renowned for transforming traditional glassmaking into contemporary lighting installations, returns to Downtown Design with the debut of its newest Signature Design – Drifting Lights.
Anchored in the concept Light it Your Way, Preciosa’s 2025 presentation invites visitors to explore the dialogue between craft and code – a harmony of hand-made artistry and digital precision that defines the brand’s evolving Signature Designs.

At the heart of the installation is Drifting Lights, a poetic expression of light and stillness captured in fused glass. Orthogonally aligned panels of crystal-clear glass are suspended within a refined stainless-steel frame, illuminated through precisely injected light. The result is a mesmerising visual; light diffusing through glass like ink swirling in water, forming delicate currents that appear to drift and settle within each sheet. Tiny bubbles, naturally born during the fusing process, act as silent carriers that refract light and lend every composition a unique texture and rhythm. Whether glowing serenely under static illumination or animated through dynamic 3D lighting sequences, Drifting Lights redefines how light can be choreographed in space – not merely reflected, but set free within crystal itself.

Crystal Links

Raw Crystal

Complementing the debut are two of Preciosa’s celebrated Signature Designs – Crystal Links and Raw Crystal.
Crystal Links captures the pulse of urban energy through interlocking metal and crystal forms that can be composed into both bold architectural statements and subtle decorative accents.
Raw Crystal, meanwhile, pays homage to the purity of Bohemian crystal craftsmanship. Each component is hand-crafted and uniquely shaped, designed to evoke the raw beauty of natural crystal formations while maintaining a modern, ethereal presence in space.
Together, these designs embody Preciosa’s ability to transform material mastery into versatile lighting languages; adaptable, expressive, and deeply rooted in the art of connection.
Furthering its exploration of creativity and control, Preciosa will also showcase the Signature Design Generator – an innovative digital tool. Through real-time 3D visualisation and intuitive configuration, the Generator enables designers to personalise Signature Designs like Drifting Lights, tailoring scale, composition, and lighting effects to individual projects. It’s the perfect reflection of the brand’s philosophy: drafted by code, crafted by hand. “Lighting has always been about emotion and experience,” says Michael Vasku, Co-Creative Director of Preciosa Lighting. “With Drifting Lights, we push that idea further – allowing light to move freely, to interact, and to connect with people in new ways. It’s both a technological and artistic journey.”
At Downtown Design 2025, Preciosa once again demonstrates how light can transcend function to become art – a medium of connection, emotion, and timeless beauty.
