Mihir Sanganee, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder at Designsmith shares the journey behind shaping the interior fitout of this regenerative design project
Developed by R.Evolution, Eywa is one of the most looked forward to upcoming developments in Business Bay. With a focus on regenerative design, the building brings together architects, ancient Vedic wisdom, wellness experts, crystal energy and forward-thinking engineers to co-create buildings that are alive with purpose – spaces that give more than they take.
In addition to this, it was the the first project to secure the UAE’s first residential WELL Platinum pre certification. “At Eywa, regenerative thinking, neuroarchitecture, and biophilic principles underpin how we shape the well-being of our residents. When a building is designed to harmonise with nature, restore surrounding ecosystems, and support human health and longevity, it becomes more than just a structure, but a living organism,” shares Alex Zagrebelny, Founder & CEO at R.Evolution Real Estate Developer. “This approach allows Eywa to actively improve the health of its residents, foster clarity of thought and harmony, and give more than it takes. This is the future of real estate: homes that heal us, connect us, and help us live with greater vitality.”

To execute a project that is both ambitious as well as challenging, R.Evolution has appointed local fit-out firm Designsmith to deliver the full interior fitout, including the apartments, lobbies, lift lobbies, corridors, and all common areas. From the stones and marble to the joinery and feature walls, the firm leans into its expert craftsmanship to deliver an experience in sync with the ethos of Eywa. Across all areas, the focus was to make the spaces feel warm, grounded, and intentional. Natural textures, smooth transitions, and soft forms shape the experience – whether in public spaces or private residences.
“The wood finishes and the marble selections are a major highlight,” shares Mihir Sanganee, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Designsmith. “The designers and development team from R.Evolution hand-selected slabs with our project managers, matched veins, and detailed everything so the stone reads as one continuous surface. The curved joinery, raw finishes, and organic forms are also key – Eywa avoids straight lines, so each element required precise craftsmanship.”

In terms of the sustainable element, the firm followed through with responsible sourcing, controlled waste management, and strict quality protocols in manufacturing and installation. “I told the team early on: this is not a race; this is craftsmanship.” shared Sanganee.
With consistency as a priority, the firm set out to tackle challenges as soon as they came up with a special attention to detail. Mockups, samples, testing, and alignment were considered alongside the developer. Sanganee cites the curved joinery pieces as one of the signature moments of the fit-out process of the prestigious project. “Curves look effortless when they’re done well, but they’re not easy – you need patience and precision to pull them off.” he says. “The live-edge island is another one. It’s a simple piece in concept, but it brings a kind of soul to the space. We had to treat it in a way that didn’t overpower the natural beauty of the wood. Easier said than done.”
As the delivery date gets closer, residents of the building will look forward to receiving the keys to their wellness-focused residence.
