Elegance is the singular, simple principle that drove the design of Ozzy, created by Patrick Norguet for Flexform. Comprising armchairs, dining chairs and ottomans, this family takes its inspiration from the introduction of the collar in 17th-century attire, a symbol of the nobility.

A distinctive feature of each of the pieces in the collection is the cowhide-clad outer backrest (chairs) or cloak (ottoman) that can be paired with the seat upholstery, available in leather and fabric, making countless sophisticated pairings possible. “Each material serves a specific purpose. The elegance of folded cowhide, expertly crafted using the artisan techniques of fine saddlery, provides rigidity, nobility and character,” says Norguet.

All Ozzy pieces feature scaled-down proportions, meaning they are suitable for almost any room in the home. The armchair is supported on a metal swivel base, with soft goose-down cushions enhancing its elegance and comfort. The dining chair also features a metal swivel base, while its solid wood legs are available in a variety of finish colours.

“Beyond the historical aspect, Ozzy is a construction, an architecture, a unique design that I would describe as truly enveloping. As with all seating, comfort remains an absolute priority: the pursuit of perfect ergonomics, achieved through the use of foam and fabric, lends balance and contrast,” states the designer.
