Get the glow: 5 Beauty Destinations

Destinations in the region and beyond designed for putting your best face forward.

Spa at The Bulgari Resort Dubai

Is there anything more alluring than Italian style? Created by world-renowned designers Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, the Spa at The Bulgari Resort Dubai features 1,700 square-metres devoted to the Italian brand’s signature approach to luxury treatments for men and women. Their spa menu features options inspired by the region, as well as their state-of-the art thermal and bathing experiences. If you have 2-5 hours, indulge in their Kahraman Treatment, a natural Baltic amber mystical journey that recreates the atmosphere of the ancient Baltic forests. Or embarque on their Majestic Hamman Journey in their dedicated suite. To feel exceptionally special, try the Royal Lulur Treatment (spice and yogurt exfoliation)—it has literally been practiced by royalty in Central Java since the 17th century. Just an hour? Select a treatment from their 100% natural plant-powered skincare line, Amala. For your best friend? Give the 90 minute La Mer facial. After this level of pampering, you’ll be expecting the paparazzi.

V, the Spa at Palm Jumeirah Dubai

Long to be dripping in diamonds and crystals? If a trip to Cartier or Swarovski isn’t on your commute, head to V (Five), the Spa at Palm Jumierah Dubai. Designed to honour the region with its exquisite sensory treatments, its arched ceilings and traditional Ottoman aura were inspired by traditional Middle Eastern massage and wellness centers. Their Quartz Story holistic treatment uses tiny quartz crystal fragments in the sand to remove negative energy and fill in the positive. Their Avant-Garde Spa Treatments include rituals using gold and crushed diamond dust in scrubs and creams, but our favourite: The Desert Sensory Experience. It begins with a powerful visual meditation before ostrich feathers (representing the desert wind on the body) and ostrich eggs filled with warm sand placed on strategic points of the body induce intense relaxation. Afterwards, you’re immersed in scents of oud, frankincense and exotic African wood, the vibration of Tibetan bowls, and the warm crystals in a unique quartz bed.

Spa and Gym at Palazzo Versace Dubai

voking a luxurious otherworldly universe-under-the-sea design, Granito Nero Assoluto marble floors and white birch wood walls with mother-of- pearl details are only some of the details that give this spa a decadence rating of 11 on a scale of 1 of 10. True to its unabashed love of all things pleasurable and extravagant, the 1000 square-metre SPA and Gym at Palazzo Versace Dubai reflects the brand’s spirit throughout its relaxation areas, luxury treatment rooms, hammams and saunas. To feel like Donatella: try the Golden Glow a facial that includes the application of actual 24ct gold leaf. To live like her for a day: select the Ultimate Package. You’ll begin by being whisked to breakfast at Giardino restaurant and then be transformed by head-to-toe luxury treatments, Afterwards, enjoy a two-course lunch at either Vanitas or Amalfi followed by a limo ride home. Getting up for work the next day just won’t feel the same.

Il Makiage

Il Makiage is not for the shrinking violet- unless she’s going to wear the purple hue in their Color Boss Palette. True to their vision, when they sought to open their super glamourous pop up pavillion in NYC’s Soho district they sought the firm founded by the only woman whose superhuman personality matched their bold, luxurious style: Zaha Hadid Architects. The result: a design that reinterprets the distinctive motif that wraps around the corner of all Il Makiage’s packaging. Folded black and white structural ribbons—each slightly rotated– generates a powerful rhythm of contrasts along the length of the pavilion.  “We wanted to create an environment defined by the women celebrated by Il Makiage,” said Kar-Hwa Ho, Zaha Hadid Architects head of interiors. “A personal space that’s all about her, to select and apply her makeup.” Coming soon: boutiques in New York City, Washington D.C. and Miami.

Spa Métropole by Givenchy

Enchanting, beautiful and certainly a key ingredient in any fairy tale, we were inspired by the modern romance of Megan Markle’s stunning Givenchy wedding dress. And although her gown might not be in our future, we discovered an attainable luxury with the same French Maison’s signature style: Spa Métropole by Givenchy at the Hôtel Métropole in Monte-Carlo. To mark the first anniversary, the Spa is offering the new Soin Visage Lift & Glow facial.   The treatment begins with gentle makeup removal with a brush, followed by a deep facial massage. A cryotherapy technique is then choreographed, followed by the L’Intemporel Multi-Masking Kit, which lifts the contour of the face, nourishes and hydrates the skin and restores its radiance. The final step: the application of the Soin Lumière Éclat Rosé Visage et Yeux, the Sérum Éclat Perfecteur and the Crème Révélatrice d’Éclat Rosé from the L’Intemporel Blossom range. It’s the ultimate indulgence.
