France looks to ‘reinvent the art of design’ at Downtown Design

‘Expression of French Design… Just Beautiful’ gathers together 17 French exhibitors.

Business France, the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, has gathered together 17 artists, design experts and innovation specialists on the French pavilion at Downtown Design to exhibit avant-garde and iconic expertise.

The fair is being used to showcase French creativeness, aesthetics, elegance, quality and know-how through a collection of furniture, creative musical instruments and equipment, reinvented objects plus equipment, appliances, materials, accessories, fashion and services.

In France, the design market generates up to 24 billion euros in revenue each year and the art trades are deeply rooted in French heritage.

The brands exhibiting include Meljac (area A05), a leading supplier of high-end electrical fittings, which will be exhibiting its designs – including custom designs and its signature solid brass Classic Collection – for the first time in the UAE.

Also present are La Chaise Française and Maison Duvivier Canapés (furniture), Winckelmans (fine tiles), Charlestine (retro-styled radios), Entre Terre & Talents (promoter of French-based talent), Maugein (the last accordion-maker in France), Coleen (e-bikes), De Dietrich (premium kitchen appliances), My Tailors & Co (online provider of custom-designed haute couture), Grav’Or (decorated glass) and Maisons du Monde (furniture and decorations).

The French pavilion at Downtown has been designed by renowned scenographers from Parisian event agency Allegria and is supported by Aubaine (Chalhoub Group).
