Alserkal and Design Miami announce one of a kind collaboration.
Alserkal, Dubai’s pioneering cultural district, and Design Miami, the world’s foremost forum for collectible design have come together to write a new chapter in the story of global design. It’s a partnership born from a shared passion, uniting the vibrant energy of Dubai with the established design hubs of Miami and Paris. Set to launch in early 2027, this collaboration will introduce a dedicated platform for collectible design right in the heart of the Middle East, beginning with a landmark flagship event and a rich programme of year-round activities.
The roots of this bold venture stretch back over a decade, to 2007, when Alserkal transformed an industrial site into one of the region’s most dynamic creative districts, nurturing artists, designers, and cultural pioneers who have since shaped the artistic spirit of Dubai and beyond. Meanwhile, across the ocean, Design Miami has spent 20 years curating a space where exceptional design and critical thought meet a space where collectors, galleries, and creatives converge to push boundaries and celebrate innovation.
Now, these two legacies converge, guided by a thoughtful and context-driven approach that reflects perspectives born in the UAE and the wider Middle East. Together, they will cultivate a community of designers and collectors, weaving local voices into a global tapestry. The platform promises more than a momentary gathering; it will offer ongoing opportunities for learning, dialogue, and creative exploration, setting Dubai firmly on the international stage as a hub for collectible design.

The visionaries behind this partnership share their reflections with a sense of excitement and purpose; Abdelmonem Bin Eisa Alserkal, founder of Alserkal, said “Alserkal’s partnership with the Design Miami brand is of global significance: by triangulating Dubai with Design Miami’s platforms in Miami and Paris, we have created a powerful network driven by our shared values. From today onwards, we are united in a single, forward-looking design vision”. Vilma Jurkute, Alserkal’s executive director, added that the Middle Eastern debut as a natural trajectory that builds on 15 years of nurturing the MENA arts ecosystem, marking design as the next chapter in the region’s cultural growth.
From the Design Miami side, Jen Roberts, CEO, said “Alserkal has played a crucial role in building and shaping an international creative district in Dubai. Through this partnership, we see a great opportunity to exemplify our shared values and belief that design is a global language. Together, we can create a meaningful platform that celebrates both the region’s cultural heritage while highlighting its spirit of innovation—a platform to connect the global networks of collectors and designers we have built over the years.”
And Finally, Jesse Lee, Chairman of Design Miami, also commented “This partnership marks a key moment for both our brands, combining Design Miami’s two decades of expertise in shaping the collectible design market, with Alserkal’s pivotal role in shaping the cultural landscape of Dubai. Together, we will bring a distinct new design offering to the region.”
Together, Alserkal and Design Miami step into a collaborative future defined by exchange, innovation, and respect for the cultural roots that bind their communities. This partnership isn’t just an event it’s the beginning of a new era for collectible design in the Middle East, one that will amplify regional creativity, engage the world in meaningful conversation, and celebrate design as a bridge between tradition and the future.
