The Synua pivot door by Oikos defines the entrance of a contemporary villa in Jordan’s capital with scale, strength, and striking materiality.
Perched within the vibrant, historic-meets-modern landscape of Amman, Jordan, a contemporary villa unveils its most commanding architectural gesture at the very threshold: the Synua armoured door by Oikos. Designed to transcend standard proportions and expectations, this entrance impresses at first glance.
The villa, completed between 2021 and 2022, redefines what a front door can be. Measuring a grand 2000 x 3631 mm, with an additional double-blind side structure of 667 x 3631 mm, the Synua door in this context, becomes a sculptural and structural statement. Finished in Brown Oxide Laminam porcelain gres on the exterior, the surface evokes the elemental texture of aged bronze, punctuated by a horizontal handle and a central sector in Browned Brass. This rich combination amplifies the sense of prestige and permanence, harmonising effortlessly with the villa’s powerful architectural vocabulary.

From within, the interior cladding shifts in tone but maintains its refined character—rendered in Gravel Grey Lacquered finish and echoing the same handle and brass detailing. The palette complements the interior’s natural stone elements and neutral tones, contributing to a seamless spatial and sensory transition from outside to inside.
A feat of design engineering, the vertically pivoting armoured door allows for exceptional height and fluid movement. Unlike traditional hinged doors, Synua transfers its substantial weight to the ground, enabling increased dimensional freedom without sacrificing stability or performance. Concealed adjustable hinges further ensure a clean, uninterrupted design.
Synua’s appeal lies in its ability to meet the architectural aspirations of bespoke luxury homes where no detail is too small, and no dimension too daring. In this Amman villa, it stands not only as an entrance but as a declaration of strength, craftsmanship, and contemporary elegance.
