As travel becomes a way of life for more and more people around the world, the art of recalling one’s most profound and unexpected experiences requires more than a social media post or blog entry. This latest volume on creating spaces that reflect the power of the journey is a fine argument for putting the camera down and immersing one’s self in the depth of one’s surroundings.

Divided into three main sections with text in English, German and French, this splendid volume features over 200 colour photos of homes and inns that reflect the spirit of global travel. This slender book’s 176 pages categorises each residence within as ‘contemporary chic’, ‘simple rustic’ or ‘global glamour’, with short descriptions accompanying the visual narrative.

While each space boasts something special, stand-outs include: The Japanese Inn Zaborin in Hokkaido, Japan; Casa Vera in Syracuse, Italy (private property); and the Aegean Villa in Syros, Greece (private property).

All these properties exemplify the power of blending contemporary style with a local aesthetic in a respectful fashion. Ideal for designers, architects and all global nomads.
