Major exhibit will feature artists of the Paris School.
The first major exhibit of the 2019/20 season at the Louvre Abu Dhabi will be Rendezvous in Paris: Picasso, Chagall, Modigliani & Co. (1900-1939). Visitors will discover the Paris of the Roaring Twenties, a time when the City of Light was a Bohemian hub for artists from across Europe. More than eighty works produced during this moment of extraordinary creativity will be on view for the first time in the Middle East, in partnership with Centre Pompidou, Paris.
The exhibition will launch with a cultural program inspired by Picasso’s Cubist artworks and the poetry of Jean Cocteau and Guillaume Apollinaire. It will bring Cubism to life across the museum with film screenings, international DJs playing cubism-inspired visuals lighting the façades and dome of the museum and live performances.
