Renown architects unveil Battersea Power Station projects.
Foster + Partners, WilkinsonEyre and Gehry Partners are among the internationally heralded architects who recently unveiled designs for the world’s largest urban regeneration development, Battersea Power Station. The £9 billion project will create a new luxury town centre in London that celebrates the industrial heritage of an iconic building.
The Fosters’ Battersea Roof Gardens will be an undulating building with a glass façade designed to contrast with the brick Power Station. The terrace will feature picnic spots, sun decks and fitness areas.
Andy Bow, Practice Director at Foster + Partners said about the project, “It convenes the revitalization of a historic icon of the city with progressive urbanism – building dense developments in close proximity to new and existing transport infrastructure and bringing together vibrant and dynamic places to live, work and play.”
Not surprisingly, the completed phases of the Battersea Power Station revitalization project has been popular with Middle Eastern investors.
