All four models in the Ceed family have now been recognized with Red Dot awards.
The Kia XCeed urban crossover has been awarded 2020 Red Dot design award, making it one of the most stylish vehicles on the road today.
A jury of 40 experts and journalists analysed each of the 6,500 submissions across three main criteria’s – Product Design, Brands & Communication, and Design Concept – before awarding Kia’s newest member of Ceed family the highly-regarded accolade. The ‘Product Design’ prize makes the XCeed the fourth member of the Ceed model family to receive a coveted Red Dot prize, bringing Kia’s total number of Red Dot awards to 25, since the brand won its first in 2009.
“Kia has strived for continuous quality improvements and more fascinating and interesting customer experiences. Kia’s crossover XCeed represents this new vision. I am extremely proud that our team’s efforts are appreciated by customers all over the world,” said Karim Habib, Head of Kia Design Center.
The Kia XCeed is a new urban crossover utility vehicle (CUV) which combines compact SUV practicality with the sporty packaging and engaging handling of a hatchback.
Designed as a sporty alternative to a traditional SUV, the new CUV offers comparable levels of space for the whole family as well as your shopping. The sporty handling makes you feel in control while also keeping in mind the comfort. It also provides a more commanding view of the road ahead than a conventional hatchback, so you feel safe and aware on the road.
“This is another milestone achievement for the Kia team. We applaud our colleagues globally for their visionary and innovative designs and congratulate them on winning what is one of the most sought-after seals of automotive quality,” said Yaser Shabsogh, Chief Operating Officer, Regional HQs, Middle East & Africa. “Beyond design, the XCeed shares a host of award-worthy characteristics with its fellow Kia models that help distinguish our vehicle portfolio from all others in the sector.”
Next up, Kia is scheduled to launch a new electrified variant of the car, the XCeed Plug-in Hybrid.
