id50 2025 – Omar Nakkash

Founder and Design Director at Nakkash Design Studio talks about his work and design achievements.

What are the latest exciting projects that you are working on that will come to life in the near future?

We’re fortunate to be immersed in a variety of dynamic projects across different sectors. Among these are the complete redesign and refurbishment of a villa in The Meadows, a thoughtfully curated F&B space in the vibrant 1 Central district, and the transformation of a building in Lisbon, breathing new life into its historical context.

Please mention some of your latest projects/achievements as a firm (Top 3)

Our recent accomplishments have been both diverse and rewarding. We had the privilege of delivering the executive floors for the iconic Dubai Chambers building, a landmark project that challenged and inspired us. We also completed a serene, Japanese-inspired apartment in One Za’abeel, blending minimalism with warmth. Additionally, we marked a milestone with our first project in Saudi Arabia: a Levantine-inspired restaurant that celebrates regional heritage through design.

How would you describe your ‘house style’ and design philosophy?

Our design philosophy is rooted in developing concepts with depth and individuality, resisting the allure of standardization. Every project is crafted with a unique narrative while always placing the human experience at the heart of our spaces.
