id Design Awards 2019 opens for submissions

The GCC’s most prestigious design competition seeks submissions of the best designs in the region.

For the fifth consecutive year, the identity Design Awards announces a call for nominations of the most outstanding design projects in the GCC. From July 7 to August 4, 2019, submissions will be accepted for consideration.

An independent jury of internationally acclaimed design luminaries will evaluate each project. An October gala will recognize the final winners. An abundance of spectacular projects in the region has made this award a highly coveted accolade.

For the past four years, architect, interior designer, master planner and industrial designer, Marco Piva served as Head Juror of the id Design Awards. Last year he was joined by Jean Philippe Nuel, Ludovica + Roberto Palomba, and Keiji Takeuchi. This year we’re honoured to have Alex Michaelis, of the London/New York-based Michaelis Boyd practice, join the jury along with Barcelona-based Italian architect Teresa Sapay. The full highly esteemed jury for the 2019 competition will be announced soon.

The criteria for the id Design Awards are those that reflect the identity ethos of design excellence, originality, sustainability and aesthetics. The jury will identify the best examples of pure, clean, precise and dynamic contemporary designs in fifteen categories of residential, hospitality and public spaces.
