5 exhibitions designed to inspire

The fall season is bringing the work of top artists to museums around the world.

The London Design Museum’s 2018 Designers in Residence: Hester Buck, Ella Bulley, Dr. Helga Schmid and Eva Jäger & Guillemette Legrand (Legrand Jäger), will be creating objects, experience and interactions the push design boundaries in Designers in Residence 2018: Dwelling.

With over 350 works by 100 artists, the major new exhibition The Shape of Light: 100 Years of Photography and Abstract Art illuminates the complex and beautiful connections between stories of photography and abstract art and sculptures from 1910 until the present.

Andy Warhol- from A to B and Back Again is the first Warhol retrospective organised in the U.S. since 1989. With more than 350 works of art, many together for the first time, it draws upon new materials, research and scholarship.

London Design Museum’s 2018

Contemporary Muslim Fashions is the first major museum exhibition to explore the complex and diverse Muslim dress codes worldwide. Eighty ensembles have been drawn from established and emerging designers in high-end fashion, streetwear, sportswear, and couture.

The first exhibition at the V&A Dundee – Scotland’ new design museum – is Ocean Liners: Speed and Style. Showcasing more than 250 objects from these ‘floating palaces’ will include paintings, sculptures, ship and engine models, wall panels, furniture, fashion, textiles, photographs, posters and film.
