Ian Callum awarded the CBE
Legendary car designer Ian Callum, Jaguar Director of Design, was awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his services in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2019. The accolade recognizes his contribution in car design made during a career spanning four decades.
During Calllum’s twenty years at Jaguar, he built a creative design team that reinforced Jaguar’s reputation as maker of fast, beautiful cars. Among his heralded designs are the R-Coupe, the XK, XF and XJ, and the F-Type, Jaguar’s first two-seater since the iconic E-Type. In 2019, he saw the launch of I-PAXE, Jaguar’s first all-electric vehicle, which was crowned World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year and World Green Car of the Year.
