We met with Studio Baab's co-founder Interior Designer Ghida Chehab to learn more about their vision and goals
Welcome to ‘Young Legacies’ – a series created in collaboration with Ideal Standard where we interview a new generation of designers and architects about what inspires them, the projects they are bringing to life and what they hope to contribute to the field of design.
Our pilot kicks off with Ghida Chehab, co-founder of Dubai-based design practice Studio Baab , who launched their studio earlier last year and who already have a strong portfolio of interior design projects under their belt.
The word ‘baab’ (meaning door in Arabic) is symbolic of new experiences, an element Chehab wishes to express through her projects, allowing for each space to become one of exploration and experience. We learn more about her approach below.
For over 100 years, Ideal Standard’s mission has been one of innovation and design to make life better for customers. Partnering up with renowned Italian design studio Palomba Serafini Associati, Ideal Standard marked the beginning of a new era. This partnership brought together the extraordinary design vision of globally renowned designer Roberto Palomba and Ideal Standard’s extensive manufacturing expertise.
The interview was filmed at Ideal Standard Dubai Design & Specification Centre in the City Walk. With a clear view of the Burj Khalifa, the 700 square meter centre offers a unique experience from inside and outside alike. The showroom is designed by the Italian designer and founder of PalombaSerafini Associati, Roberto Palomba himself to be as a one-stop destination for all bathroom solutions.
