id50 2025 – Paul Bishop

The founder of Bishop Design, one of the visionaries on our id50 2025.

What are the latest exciting projects that you are working on that will come to life in the near future?

Where to start?! Our collaboration with Sunset Hospitality is taking things to the next level, as we currently work on bringing a new entertainment venue to the region. Think critical fusion between food, beverage, and entertainment—an interconnected experience designed to transform the entire social scene.

On top of that, we have Carbone at The Royal Atlantis making its debut later this year, adding another incredible dining experience to one of the most sought-after spots.

On the international front, we’re gearing up for the much-anticipated 5* Intercontinental in Rabat, Morocco—set to open by the end of the year. This is a big one, both for us and our client. We’re also working with some renowned restaurant brands, to expand their international reach. Expect to see Sumosan launch in Cyprus, and Akira Back open its second restaurant in Morocco.

And this is just the beginning. We’re expanding, pushing creative limits, and taking our vision to new international territories.

Please mention some of your latest projects/achievements as a firm (Top 3)

Collaborating with Major Food Group has been transformative for Bishop Design. Expanding their portfolio and bringing exceptional venues like Carbone Vino in Miami and the upcoming Carbone Dubai to life has been a defining milestone. With exciting future projects already in the pipeline, we are eager to see where this partnership takes us.

Securing the luxury resort project was a significant win, one we’ve worked tirelessly to manifest. Successfully landing this project in such a short time, while competing against leading U.S. brands, speaks volumes about our expertise and determination in the international arena.

In line with this growth, we’re upgrading our Miami office to better support our expansion, reinforcing our commitment to strengthening our presence in the U.S. This move solidifies our position as more than just a local firm; we are an international force, with a quiet confidence in our ability to compete with global frontrunners.

Though this is the fourth, it truly deserves a mention. Watching the Playground brand evolve has been nothing short of incredible. From Vegas to Nashville, and with talks of international expansion on the horizon, it’s clear we’re only scratching the surface of what’s to come. What makes this even more exciting is that we get to share this journey alongside our sister brand, Rogue—the visionary creators behind the brand.

Can you talk about a type of project that you would like to take on in 2025 that would interest you and your team to pursue (dream project that you would like to manifest)?

The dream project we’ve long discussed, once a distant vision, is now becoming a reality—the luxury resort I mentioned earlier. From day one, we knew this would be a game-changer, a project that would redefine the luxury resort concept and embody everything South Beach should be—luxurious, elegant, and steeped in refined hedonism.

The same principles and vision that have driven our work in the Middle East—where bold, transformative design is the norm—are the forces behind this project as well. It’s been years of ambition, persistence, and unwavering belief to reach this moment. What began as a dream is now unfolding with incredible partners by our side, and when it finally comes to life, it will be nothing short of surreal.

How would you describe your ‘house style’ and design philosophy?

Our style? It’s unapologetic, bold, and distinctive. Our design philosophy is about breaking the mold and crafting spaces that leave a lasting impression. It’s not just about aesthetics; it’s about the experience—the journey people take within the space. Every design we create tells a story, and we ensure that story feels compelling and engaging. We’re not in the business of doing what’s expected; we’re here to challenge the norm and create something extraordinary.

As this is the power issue, what empowers you and your team?

What drives us is the desire to create something truly exceptional. Watching our designs come to life, seeing people engage with the spaces we’ve crafted, and knowing we’ve contributed to something meaningful—that’s what fuels our passion.

Each project is an opportunity to push boundaries. From the outset, we take ownership of every detail—shaping the flow, movement, and atmosphere to ensure every space tells its story with purpose.

We have unwavering belief in our industry and in what we do as a company. Our confidence in the value we bring drives us to continually raise the bar. We’re not here to fit in; we’re here to challenge the status quo, and that’s what keeps us striving for more.
