Design Take: Sky Suites at ICD Brookfield Place

Sky Suites is where design meets business for an overall luxurious and exclusive experience.

The intersection of business and leisure calls for more thoughtful and innovative designs in workspace environments. Sky Suites at ICD Brookfield Place, located on the 50th floor, responds to this increasing trend by prioritising well-being, creativity, and productivity. The private suites, designed by Marmol Radziner, offers a luxurious and sophisticated environment that is reinterpreted through the lens of hospitality.

“Integrating business and leisure has become a defining trend in modern office space design as companies increasingly prioritise well-being, creativity, and productivity. This evolving approach highlights the importance of creating environments that balance high-performance work settings with areas designed for relaxation and rejuvenation,” comments Rob Devereux, CEO of Brookfield Properties Middle East.

The interiors of Sky Suites are meticulously designed with a minimalist approach, featuring marble, rich wood panels, and unique lighting that frame expansive city views. Upon exiting the elevator, visitors are welcomed into the reception and Sky Suites lounge, where a colour palette of warm neutrals, greens, and whites creates a refined and calming atmosphere. Wave-like ceiling details and subtle lighting harmonise with artwork displayed throughout the interiors. Furnishings include low-profile couches and armchairs in muted greens and earthy tones, enhancing the serene atmosphere.

The marble-topped table, surrounded by bar stools and greenery, creates a casual and inviting space for social interaction. On one side, a bookcase with a marble backdrop complements the kitchen table, while the other side features a softly lit display of books and decorative artefacts.

“A focus on wellness is deeply embedded in the Sky Suites’ design. From ergonomic furniture to abundant natural light and thoughtfully curated interiors, every element is crafted to promote both physical and mental well-being. These beautifully designed spaces go beyond functionality, offering an environment that encourages balance and inspires creativity,” Devereux adds.

The artwork within Sky Suites plays an essential role in defining the character and ambiance of each space. These carefully selected pieces bring cultural relevance to space, engaging and inspiring both guests and tenants.

In the reception area, guests are welcomed by Venuses & Aphrodites, an acrylic piece by Lebanese artist Taghreed Darghouth. As they continue through the hallway, they encounter Borders Are Only in Our Minds by Hazem Harb and A Body is the Holder in Blue by Alymamah Rashed. Further along, more artworks decorate the hall, with a prominent piece being Cluster F by Miramar Al Nayyar.

“Over the years, ICD Brookfield Place has acquired artwork by regional artists for its corporate collection. Artists such as Hazem Harb and Taghreed Darghouth were selected for the Sky Suites as their works reflect pivotal moments in the Middle East and are deeply rooted within the local community. While many of these artists are established practitioners whose work has been acquired by museums and international institutions, ICD Brookfield Place actively supports and collects emerging talent such as Miramar AlNayyar and Malik Thomas Jalil,” comments Malak Abu-Qaoud, Arts & Events Director at ICD Brookfield Place.

The Sky Suites offer eleven fully furnished private suites ranging from 900 to 1,200 square feet, each with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame stunning views of the Dubai skyline from the 50th floor. Each suite includes six to nine workstations, a private meeting room, an office, and a pantry equipped with all essentials. Tenants of Sky Suites have access to private meeting rooms on the 50th, 51st, and 52nd floors. As a benefit of working in ICD Brookfield Place, they enjoy luxurious facilities, including priority access to two new gourmet restaurants and exclusive meeting rooms located on the 51st and 52nd floors.

“The private offices provide a fully fitted, plug-and-play solution, combining unparalleled design with cutting-edge technology. Additionally, they offer access to a world-class ecosystem of business and lifestyle amenities within ICD Brookfield Place,” comments Devereux.

The design philosophy behind Sky Suites reflects a commitment to creating spaces that are both functional and visually engaging. By elevating the concept of a traditional office, Sky Suites presents a forward-thinking and hospitality-oriented approach to workspace design that resonates with businesses and high-level professionals.
