Beyond ONE’S latest Dubai Headquarters showcases a new trend in office design

With a multi-cultural design and an environmentally friendly layout, interior architectural studio DBM is redefining the office space.

Beyond One's main office

With its most recent redesign by DBM in cooperation with Compass and Verve, Beyond One’s new office space is challenging the traditional corporate design structure. The new, modern workplace emphasises creating a creative workspace. Using biophillic design concepts, the interiors foster a warm, cosy environment in which staff well-being is prioritised.

The interpersonal aspect of business and human connection form the foundation of the Beyond One redesign’s ethos. Eschewing the conventional office design, in place of the reception desk and waiting area, DBM decorates a warmly toned reception area with an arched glass door leading to the outdoor majlis. The comfortable white sofa complements the earthy terracotta tiles, with a plethora of greenery symbolising human connection and adding an inviting aura to the space. The abundance of plants adorning the office’s entryway and walls alludes to Beyond ONE’s commitment to the environment.

The company’s office goes one step further with its environmental commitment, seamlessly integrating energy-efficient materials, reclaimed wood, and cutting-edge water recycling and energy conservation technologies all in its design.

Markus Tagger, Beyond ONE’s Group CEO, said: “Our new Dubai headquarters is everything you need from an office, but feels nothing like one. It’s a human-centric space where our team thrives, feels at home, and is empowered to think beyond.” To adhere to this philosophy, DBM had to implement intentional design features that prioritised employee well-being. Rejecting fixed desks, the redesign has ergonomic workstations that factor in day-to-day responsibility, with height-adjustable desks and wooden high tables that offer additional workspaces. A café area also forms part of the design to enhance social interaction.

The café area is designed with Tulum-inspired features like driftwood, artisan tiles, and textured finishes. The driftwood decorations and the white handcrafted tiles blend to create a rustic, natural style that invites social interaction and relaxation.

The kitchen, and office café

The office is a celebration of culture, with design inspiration from Latin America and the Middle East regions carefully woven into the space. The Moroccan-theme terrace has a minimalist design with touches of wood side tables, warm-toned poufs, and colorful pillows. The terrace is an inviting space, where employees can unwind and reestablish a connection with nature. It provides a serene backdrop to promote an intimate, peaceful work environment.

The colourful accents inspired by Latin American culture add a lively flair to the office and unify the overall design. Rich in culture, the area emphasises diversity and inclusivity with its Moroccan-themed terrace and Mexican details. The Beyond ONE’s office transcends conventional corporate settings, providing a vibrant ambiance that promotes innovation, facilitates teamwork, and incorporates company values of sustainability, diversity, and inclusivity in its design.

Mahsa Gholizadeh, founder of Design by Mahsa (DBM), said: “Beyond ONE challenged us to reimagine the workspace and avoid typical office layouts, furniture and design. We took a space that was closed-off and uninspiring and turned it into something truly special. Now, it’s an oasis that blends the indoors and outdoors, celebrates different cultures, and inspires creativity. It’s proof that design can completely change how we experience work – for the better.”
