Heritage Reimagined

Designlab Experience turns iconic spaces into living narratives of Emirati culture, luxury, and craftsmanship.

The revitalised Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club stands as a serene expression of design that celebrates the UAE’s deep-rooted equestrian legacy. Far more than a renovation, the project is a reawakening an architectural journey that transforms tradition into a tactile, modern experience.

The transformation, led by Designlab Experience (DLE), reinterprets the elegance of equestrian culture through a refined lens of craftsmanship, materiality, and light. Every spatial gesture pays homage to heritage while embracing the language of contemporary luxury. The result is a timeless environment that honours both movement and stillness, grandeur and intimacy.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a striking equestrian mural a modern tribute that captures the grace and power of the horse. This visual rhythm carries through the interiors, where suspended woven panels and handcrafted textures create a layered interplay of light and shadow. The atmosphere is grounded in authenticity yet lifted by a quiet sophistication that defines the entire space.

The VIP Majlis embodies this delicate balance. Traditional palm weaving techniques are reinterpreted into sculptural surfaces, complemented by soft, leather-stitched furnishings and intricately embroidered cushions. Here, heritage is not decorative it is structural, woven into the very identity of the space. Each element evokes a tactile connection to Emirati craftsmanship, while maintaining the poise of modern comfort.

The VIP Viewing Suites continue the narrative with spaces that are intimate yet dynamic. Each suite is individually designed, blending Sadu-inspired textiles, carved timber accents, and suspended woven canopies that filter both sound and light. As day turns to dusk, the lighting transforms softly illuminating woven textures and polished details, creating a cinematic calm that mirrors the quiet energy of the arena.
