The 11th edition of the region’s leading design festival unfolds at Dubai Design District (d3)
Dubai Design Week 2025 is in full swing at Dubai Design District (d3), filling the city with creativity, innovation, and cross-cultural dialogue. Now in its 11th edition and held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the festival gathers more than 1,000 designers, architects, and creative practitioners from over 50 countries, transforming d3 into a vibrant hub of artistic and design exchange.

Running from 5–9 November, this year’s edition explores design as a social connector, with over 30 large-scale installations reimagining public space through material intelligence, spatial experimentation, and cultural storytelling. Through its dynamic programme of commissions, exhibitions, talks, workshops, and live activations, Dubai Design Week continues to reaffirm the UAE’s growing influence as a global design capital.

At the heart of the week is Downtown Design, the region’s leading fair for high-quality and contemporary design. Taking over the Waterfront Terrace, the fair presents the latest collections and design innovations from international and regional brands including Kartell, Roche Bobois, Poltrona Frau, and Huda Lighting, alongside new participants from across the Middle East. The Forum features global and regional thought leaders such as Tom Dixon, Marcel Wanders, Lee Broom, and Pallavi Dean, engaging audiences in conversations that explore the future of design.
Beyond the fair, the festival’s curatorial vision spotlights collaboration and community. The Abwab Pavilion, curated by Bahrain-based studio Maraj, delves into the cultural and ecological stories of Bahrain’s Nabih Saleh island through ornamental design. The Urban Commission by Some Kind of Practice reinterprets the Emirati courtyard as a shared civic space, while the inaugural d3 Awards champion emerging regional talent, celebrating Dubai-based designer Ohireme Uanzekin as the first recipient.

The programme also features the UAE Designer Exhibition, supported by Dubai Culture, the Editions Art & Design showcase, and the d3 Architecture Exhibition in partnership with the RIBA Gulf Chapter. At Maker Space, more than 50 workshops and masterclasses invite participants to explore everything from craft and material design to digital innovation.

This weekend, Marketplace returns on 8–9 November, bringing together over 80 regional artisans and independent makers in a curated outdoor experience that blends handmade goods, culinary concepts, and live performances.
“Dubai Design Week offers creatives, brands, and visitors unique ways to engage with the ever-evolving design industry and discover new talent and ideas,” says Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of Dubai Design District (d3). “This year’s edition reinforces our commitment to nurturing Dubai’s role as a global hub for culture and creativity.”

As the city’s creative district comes alive, Dubai Design Week 2025 continues to serve as a living platform for experimentation and exchange where design becomes not only a medium of innovation but a shared language shaping more inclusive and interconnected futures.
