Step into Dragonfly at the Lana Promenade, Dorchester Collection

Conceptualised by YODEZEEN, with Designfit as the appointed lead consultant and fit- out contractor, the interiors are just as much a reason to visit as the menu. and electric atmosphere that unfolds as day transforms to night. A 4m height double swing door leads into a breathtaking 8-meter-high space. Inside, the intricate detailing becomes immediately apparent. A meticulous level of craftsmanship was required to achieve the last look and feel, with Belco responsible for the joinery of the columns and ceilings, which form a key part of the venue’s narrative. YODEZEEN specified the standout bog veneer from Italy, where oak trees are maintained in bogs for hundreds of years before being removed and shaved to achieve the desired aesthetic. Enhancing the wooden elements within is the intelligent lighting provided by Gulf Line, where seductive red tones add a sense of grandeur and theatrics, working in harmony with the luxurious materials. As guests travel through the 595 sqm space, the timber parquet flooring by Tree Ring serves as a subtle nod to tradition, anchoring the restaurant’s harmonious fusion of timeless elements and modern design.

Set over two floors, one reaches the mezzanine by a stunning timber staircase, with fibre optic illumination for the treads, enhancing the guest journey through the space. When they arrive,the DJ station takes centre stage, set behind red glass that overlooks the restaurant below, where technical and stage lighting elevates an immersive experience, emphasising the venue’s commitment to vibrant music and nightlife. Overlooking, of course, the main character of our story, the oversized red Dragonfly created by STYRO.

The bathrooms are a continuation of Dragonfly’s rich design, where intricate details unfold across ornate ceilings, walls, and basins. Each cubicle features striking entrance walls crafted by CNC machines to mimic the allure of raw steel, where the doors are intertwined with sculptural forms mimicking Dragonfly eggs.

Further highlights include the Iranian stone that adorn the columns dotted around the space, and on the terrace, custom carpets decorated with skulls designed by YODEZEEN themselves made possible thanks to Kayra.“Being part of such a prestige offering within the Dorchester Collection, is a great privilege,” shares Alice-Inigo Jones, Development & Strategy Director. “This project perfectly aligns with our strategy and the future of Designfit, taking on high-end projects and delivering stunning spaces.”
