id50 2025 – Rabah Saied

Founder of Styled Habitat talks about her vision and design achievements.

What are the latest exciting projects that you are working on that will come to life in the near future?

We have recently completed The Rug Company Bungalow, the newest regional flagship showroom. Nestled in Jumeirah, the Bungalow pays homage to the cherished mid-century villas on Al Wasl Road that were built in the 1980s. The studio’s main focus was to amplify the distinct characteristics of the existing architecture. Our goal was to honor the villa’s context and revive the nostalgic essence of the 1970s, creating an inviting, home-like feel. I’m thrilled to have designed a destination where visitors can learn about The Rug Company design legacy and I’m excited for the opportunity to be a part of a future pillar that aims to be a vibrant hub in the heart of Jumeirah.

We are also excited to be part of a new international health & wellness center coming to the Middle East. The space is envisioned as “An Eden of High-Tech Cosmetics.”

Nordic Homeworx Offices and Showroom_ Completed

The new showroom, overlooking Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, speaks to the synergy between Nordic Homeworx and design studio Styled Habitat. The renovation and expansion project aimed to encapsulate the essence of Scandinavian design, characterized by natural materials, subtle textures, and an abundance of natural light. The objective was to elevate traditional showroom aesthetics, creating an environment that is more immersive and reflective of Nordic living, aesthetics, and culture—aiming to capture the minimalist yet warm ethos of Nordic design while enabling clients to truly envision what it means to live with Kährs wood flooring in their own spaces.

BAYN Cafe

New F&B Concept in Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Introducing a hidden gem that feels like a chic and inviting ‘hangout’—a blend of cafe and lounge with a focus on hosting people and creating a vibrant community. The café is strategically situated near key locations, including financial offices, a shopping center, numerous office towers, and a medical center. This new concept goes beyond serving exceptional food and beverages; it’s a dynamic community hub welcoming innovators, professionals, creative thinkers, entrepreneurs, and consultants from diverse fields along the promenade of Al Maryah Island and beyond.

Can you talk about a type of project that you would like to take on in 2025 that would interest you and your team to pursue (dream project that you would like to manifest)?

We have a profound appreciation for the exceptional and the extraordinary, constantly seeking projects that push our creative limits, and we relish in the exquisite allure of genuine originality. We are always seeking to cultivate collaborations with amazing clients first and bring exciting and unique projects to our studio portfolio second.

How would you describe your ‘house style’ and design philosophy?

Our design philosophy at SH can be defined by designing to the tension that plays out between restrained, understated elegance, sensual attraction, and the warmth of belonging.

Our creative journey begins with understanding context and history. This often drives our design narrative, and guides us on how best we can weave this into a space. We imagine a mood and moment that creates a visual chemistry for the space. and by capturing this scene and using it as our muse, we shape every detail and sculpt experiences into interiors that draw you in and linger long after you have gone. We are devoted to weaving emotions into spaces, curating lived-in spaces where refinement flirts with initial attraction.

As this is the power issue, what empowers you and your team?

Working in alignment with our studio values that are defined by individuality, passion, discretion, and intimacy. Creating spaces that are both memorable and effortless.
