Review: “Living in Style Paris” by Caroline Sarkozy, Caroline Clavier

Get lost in the pages of a good book—it’s the soul of any room.

It’s no secret that designers from around the globe are smitten with a vision of Paris– and it’s this mythical fascination that this gorgeous new volume aims to unravel by asking: what does it mean to live in style in the City of Light?

Beginning with a lovely introduction by Sarkozy, famed interior designer and half-sister to the former French President, 22 projects are featured throughout the volume’s 224 pages (including two of her own projects). They’re accompanied by 200 colour photos from renowned photographer Jean-François Jaussaud, which beautifully capture the spirit of each creation of established interior designers and architects.

Immediately recognisable to those in the know, the featured residential designs from names such as Joseph Dirand, Frédéric Méchiche, Patrick Perrin, Juan Montoya and Olivier Dwek are traditional, historic, contemporary, modern and – more often than not – eclectic.

With texts in English, French and German, the book speaks to a global audience with its dramatic visual showcase. A testament to the resources both of clients and creators, this lush volume is bound for the coffee tables of those who embrace an aspirational lifestyle.
