Sun-washed naturals and neutral tones make up the lively new collection of furniture and homeware
id sponsporship: Crate & Barrel’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection comprises all things warm and natural, injecting a renewed breathe of fresh air into the home with sun-washed naturals and neutrals, as well as soft and sculptural furniture and feel-good textures.
The hopeful new collection is an ode to new possibilities in the form of soft neutral tones, distinctive shapes and natural materials, arranged into four key themes of: Kitchen & Tableware, Furniture & Decor, Bedroom and Home office & wellness.
The 1970s-inspired curves of the Merrick leather swivel chair makes it one of the key pieces of the collection. Perched on an exposed swivel base of natural white oak, the sculptural chair balances its oversized tight seat with the broad embrace of a wide barrel back and sumptuous leather upholstery hugs every curve of this statement-making modern chair.
The Roan office chair, on the other hand, features honey-hued cerused white oak barrel seat upholstered in linen-like ivory fabric. Popular in Art Deco furniture, the ceruse method of finishing wood uses a pigmented wax to set off the grain against the stain. The coziness of the plush seat, supportive back pad and armrest bolsters balance the wood’s firm arc. With its brass finish, the iron base complements the warmly hued oak and fabric, while five wheels navigate your home office with ease
Traditionally a symbol of wealth and fertility, Lloma double-gourd vase enriches interiors with its rhythmic curves and clean silhouette. Adding artisan accent to the modern matte white glaze, the bottom half of the vase is ridged and banded in pastel pinks resembling the markings of a scallop shell. Simple round handles unite the two gourd shapes, echoing the rounded shapes and adding negative space to its sculptural form.
