Salone del Mobile.Milano will now run from June 16-21, 2020

Salone, the world’s most important annual design event has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The 59th edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano furniture show was initially scheduled to run from April 21-26,2020 but will now run from June 16-21,2020.

Salone attracts over 370,000 visitors every year and is undisputedly the world’s biggest and most significant trade fair.

The decision to postpone the major furniture and design show and associated Milan Design Week, which is a magnet for design professionals and aficionados come in the wake of other major shows in China and Germany being rescheduled.

Some 2500 companies exhibit at the Fair organised by Cosmit, which covers an area of 230,000 square metres.

Approximately 370,000 professional visitors attend the annual fair from 188 countries, along with more than 5,000 national and international journalists and around 27,500 members during the public days.

Following days of rumours that the most significant design show may be cancelled the organisers confirmed late Tuesday that the show would go on but at a later date.

Confirmation of the change of date for the trade fair, first launched in 1961 is strongly supported by the Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala.

A few months later than planned, manufacturers will still present their latest collections to an international public that sees the annual appointment with the Salone del Mobile.Milano as a benchmark for creativity and design.

This year Salone del Mobile.Milan includes the biannual EuroCucina and International Bathroom shows.
