2020 Jury

India Mahdavi

Paris-based India Mahdavi is of Egyptian and Iranian heritage, with a design approach that offers a cross-cultural sensitivity with a nomadic touch, along with elegance and a joyful ‘art de vivre’. Her diverse range of projects explore the fields of architecture, interior design, scenography, furniture and object design. She is behind some of the most celebrated interior spaces around the world including The Gallery at sketch in London as well as the REDValentino London Sloane Street store. She has also worked with high-end brands including Golran, Givenchy, Dior, Bisazza and Louis Vuitton.

Gianluca Peluffo

Gianluca Peluffo

Italian architect Gianluca Peluffo is the founder of Peluffo & Partners. He has worked on a number of high-profile projects across the globe including Visitor Centre and Antiquarium in the Forum of Aquileia, the University Campus of Savona, the Wyler Vetta Pavilion in Basel, the headquarters of the Ministry of the Interior in Rome as well as the Fiera Milano business headquarters. He has also developed the Master Plan that was later used for the Milan Expo 2015. Peluffo also carries expertise of the MENA region, working on projects across Egypt, including the master plan of the ‘Fouka’ project on the Mediterranean Sea and the new city of Al Alamein in addition to working for the Egyptian Ministry of Housing and New Urban Communities as a consultant for architectural and artistic visions of the city. Peluffo’s contemporary approach to architecture stems from the belief that architecture “can change the world” and that every building has a public role and meaning.

Marco Piva

World renown Italian designer and architect Marco Piva, who has been a long-serving member of the jury since 2015, is joining us once again as identity Design Awards jury for 2020. Marco Piva has been championing design in Dubai for many years, engaging with regional designers, architects and developers (for instance, he designed Porto Dubai and Oceana resorts)

His creative passions propel him to probe new technologies and materials that expand the boundaries of possibility. From his main offices in Milan to the world capitals of industrial and fashion design including Dubai, Moscow, Beijing and Los Angeles, his expertise integrates the formal and functional aspects of space within their contextual and cultural traditions. His projects span the globe and include the award winner Excelsior Hotel Gallia in Milan, Hotel La Suite in Matera,  The Tonino Lamborghini Towers complex in Chengdu, several historic buildings renovation, as well as homes and villas in Beverly Hills (USA), Moscow (Russia), Melbourne (Australia), Accra (Ghana), Dubai (UAE) and many Italian cities.

Sanjay PuriSanjay Puri

Sanjay Puri is the founder and principal at Sanjay Puri Architects based in Mumbai, India. The architecture practice focuses on contextual buildings that aim to revolutionise users’ experience of spatial design and the urban context. Puri has been a judge at numerous international architecture events including the World Architecture Festival & The Perspective PLAN events held in London, Amsterdam, Bologna, Milan, Venice, Barcelona, Singapore, Berlin and Belgrade. Sanjay Puri Architects have won numerous awards including the World’s Best Housing project at the World Architecture Festival in 2018 and the World’s Best Residential Project of 2017 at the LEAF Awards in London. With a diverse portfolio of projects including schools, hotels, residential, retail and office buildings, Puri continues his quest for creating innovative design solutions that are sustainable on a large scale.

Corina Leung

Corina received her Bachelor of Interior Architecture degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia. After beginning her professional career in Sydney, she relocated to Shanghai before returning to her native Hong Kong. Over the course of her 16 years in practice, she has become a professional member of the International Interior Design Association and a LEED Green Associate.

Prior to joining LWK+PARTNERS in 2018, Corina worked with several international architecture firms, including Benoy and CallisonRTKL, planning and designing large-scale commercial interior projects across Hong Kong, Macau, China, Southeast Asia and Australia.

Her well-rounded approach and experience with a wide variety of prominent clients have been recognised with a variety of industry awards. This global experience, coupled with her sheer enthusiasm for creating meaningful and memorable interior spaces, lends a competitive edge and a distinct flavour to her aesthetic.
